You'll also need ecommerce software, fulfillment software, worry about warehousing, customer service, refunds and so on. But that's not all. You'll also need traffic. Think search engine optimization, Facebook ads, and other social media campaigns. Sound like a lot of work? Sure, it is. Especially if you do it all on your own. You could opt for Amazon's platform, which might be the easier route. But, then again, at the end of the day, this is a serious business, which could produce significant profits. So you're either all in or you're not. 
You offer the products for sale, for example, on your blog or e-commerce website. Each product has a unique link that tracks back to your account with your affiliate partner. A prospect who clicks on the link is taken to your partner’s shopping cart for checkout. Once they buy, that purchase is recorded and you receive a commission. It varies depending on the affiliate partner, but is generally 5 percent to 25 percent, or 50 percent or more with digital information products. As you can see, there’s little risk on your part and virtually no investment needed either.

Since getting into online educational content, this plugin has become the backbone online business tool that keeps my courses up and running.
I wish I had known about these online business tools when I first started trying to make money online with my early websites. When I launched my first company (which was a colossal failure, mind you), I was moving full steam ahead with a huge number of great ideas, an insane work ethic, and innate passion for eventually creating my own job – as opposed to working for someone else for the rest of my life. /injects>
